New Ruin
Новая Руина - это бесконечный проект о бесконечной московской стройке.
Начатый в 2013 году как фиксация её артефактов и малых архитектурных форм, он быстро превратился в хронику нарастающей административной агрессии - через переломный момент "ночи длинных ковшей" февраля 2016 года, к текущей новой норме отношений города и жителя, в которой последнему отведена роль исключительно пассивного наблюдателя, вынужденного постоянно терпеть "временные неудобства", и ждать обещанной "пользы навсегда".
Все работы для этого проекта печатаются с помощью матричной печати, используемой в первую очередь для печати чеков, а не фотографических изображений. Таким образом, скрытые, не поддающаяся иллюстрации, фискальные мотивы властей, вплетаются в непосредственно-наблюдаемые последствия их действий.
New Ruin is a never-ending project about Moscow's never-ending construction site.
It began in 2013 as a record of its artifacts and small architectural forms. But, it quickly became a chronicle of increasing administrative aggression: through the turning point of the "Night of the long buckets" in February 2016, when dozens of buildings, mainly small businesses, all around the city were deemed "illegally built" and demolished overnight, to the current new norm of the relationship between the city and the resident, in which the latter is assigned the role of entirely passive observer, forced to constantly endure "temporary inconveniences" and wait for the promised "benefits forever”.
All images in this project are printed on a dot-matrix printer, used primarily to print recipes rather than photographic images. In this way, the hidden, fiscal motives of the authorities are interwoven with the directly-observable consequences of their actions.
